What we are

Point of Sale Rankings is an independent research publication covering point-of-sale and business operating systems. We publish industry-specific rankings across eight industries and forty business types, in-depth reviews of twenty-three systems, head-to-head comparisons, pricing analysis, customer-service scores and public reputation data, all built on a methodology we publish in full.

No pay-to-rank, no paid listings

Vendors cannot buy a place on this site. They cannot pay to be listed, pay to be ranked higher, pay for a badge, pay to have a weakness softened or pay to have a competitor removed. Every system we cover is here because a buyer in that industry would realistically consider it, and its position is decided by the scorecard and nothing else. We have declined, and will continue to decline, sponsored placements.

Independently tested and ranked by POS experts

Our editorial team is made up of people who have implemented, run and replaced point-of-sale and business systems in retail, field service, grocery, automotive, wholesale, hospitality and beauty businesses. Every system is assessed hands-on against the same five-category scorecard for its industry: we run the workflows a real buyer would run, read the current contract and pricing terms, and review the recurring complaint patterns in public sources. Scores are debated and signed off by the team, not generated by a single reviewer or an algorithm.

Specialists win where specialists deserve to

We do not force one system to the top of every list. Two of our eight industries are led by specialists, because kitchen display and salon booking are things a cross-industry platform should not pretend to do best. Where a general-purpose system wins, it wins on the published weighting for that industry.

What we are not

We are not a vendor, a reseller or a payment processor, and we do not sell software. We are not a lead-generation site dressed as a review site. Where we earn referral fees on demo requests, those relationships are disclosed and do not touch scores, rankings or verdicts; systems without a referral relationship are ranked on exactly the same basis as those with one.

Corrections

If a vendor or reader shows us a factual error, we fix the page and note the change. Score changes happen on review, never on request. To reach the editorial team, use the contact details in the footer.
